100% worth it. i never had the opportunity to do speech therapy as a kid and the first time i saw a speech therapist i was 29 years old. And you're right, it is weird. I cried like a baby in my first session from all of the pent up frustration and anxiety (my stutter was also affecting my daily life). The exercises are definitely awkward, but they've helped me tremendously. The biggest difference is my confidence with my speech. Yes i still stutter daily, not nearly as frequent as i used to, but now i don't care what people think and have no problem starting the conversation with, "i stutter, please be patient" or "I stutter, this may take a while" and not letting people talk over me or finish my sentences. tl;dr: Go to speech therapy! You deserve it.
