> It’s hard to say because I’ve stuttered my whole life so I don’t know what my social life would be like if I didn’t stutter. It’s definitely had an impact. It’s harder for me to talk to people than for most people....... That said, I’ve never really had difficulty making friends or anything though. I didn't make friends easily as a kid, I was quite shy. Interestingly as an adult I feel I am less shy, but I still come across as shy because I talk less than I would like to in social situations. It's much easier to talk to people as an adult though because generally adults are less inclined to make fun of speech impairments, so I feel like while I can strike up the beginnings of a friendship more easily as an adult, it takes longer to solidify friendships than it should because I come across as shy (or even standoffish) because I don't join in conversation enough.
