**tl;dr It's good that you're trying to help, but you might want to talk to actual stutterers before assuming you can solve their problems.** I've heard this many, many times before. Not only that, as soon as I saw the title, I knew it would be something like that. A lot of people seem to assume that there's some simple mechanism behind it that can simply be removed with a few magic words, but it's not like that at all. If we could really solve stuttering like that, no one would stutter, and even if we could solve *any* form of stuttering like that, speech therapists would have a much, much easier job. The truth is, real speech therapy is long, grueling, and doesn't even help everyone (and I've never heard of a case where it completely got rid of a stutter). While some tips can sometimes be useful, hence half of what this community is about, anyone who goes up to a stutterer thinking they can solve their problem with two paragraphs is either conceited or naive. I suspect you're the second one, which isn't nearly as bad, so, err, sorry if I seemed a little too harsh, I suppose. ^(Really, sorry. My bad.) ^^Sorry. ^^^Awkward
