OP, have you heard of the non profit association, "The National Stuttering Association (NSA)"? There website is: https://www.westutter.org? The NSA has been around for 30+ years. Their goal is to help anyone who stutters, family members who have a family member who stutters as well. What makes the NSA really stand out is they have support chapters located all over the United States. Where you can meet up in person or virtually with other stutters, that are experiencing the EXACT issues you are having as well. OP, here is the website to find local chapters: https://www.westutter.org/join-a-chapter OP enter your address into the search box. Then in the next box choose how far away from your address you would like to travel away for a support group. Finally in the bottom box is on what type of support group. In person, a virtual support group. Being of adult age, I would suggest to start with a virtual support group, and see what you think. Then maybe you will feel like attending a in person support group. All the details for the group will be listed. The "Chapter Leader", the person's who runs the support group. OP there is ZERO, ZERO, ZERO costs to take part in the support group meetings. OP, I know a vast majority of the Chapter Leaders. Every year in July The National Stuttering Association has there national conference. People from ALL OVER THE WORLD comes together for 4 life changing days. Sleepless nights, parties, workshops, meet hundreds of Speech Language Pathologists, medical doctors, learn about the causation of stuttering, what the medical community is doing about finding a cure for stuttering. I been attending the NSA conferences for decades. I still remember my first conference. I was going to meet stuttering family for the first time and that was back in 1987. Been going every year since then. OP, your are more then happy to text me anytime to vent about your stutter. I wish you all the best as you navigate being a "Person Who Stutters (PWS)".
