Even people with genuine speech impediments aren't always comparable. I've had people who sometimes stumble over their words or speak with lots of filler words say they understand my experience, meanwhile I can often barely speak. I don't want to gatekeep but speech impediments are a huge spectrum and can't always be lumped together.
