I'm 23 yrs old and I have had a pretty bad stuttering since high school. I didn't let my stuttering define who I am, mainly because I really didn't care or thought much of it........... Until I got my first internship. Long story short my first manager at that company was an a-hole and I pretty much didn't get a full-time job there because of him, and from what I could tell my stuttering. I got my B.S. in Engineering and I applied for hundred's of jobs. Recruiters would really like my résumé and contact my via email to talk. If you haven't guessed, that's when things went south and some recruiters even told me they weren't interested in me because I wouldn't get the job I was applying for because of my stuttering. Long story short I work as a R&D engineer now and I love my job. I realized recently you don't have to let others define you, and most people don't care about your stuttering. So don't loose hope and stay positive. "Suicide is a permanent solution for a temporary problem" -- I always remember this quote. Stuttering is a time long problem for some but it doesn't have to be.
