SSRI can reduce stuttering i will prefer you to take lexapro or celexa, if you want to try talk with your doctor , each individual is different , so if only SSRI forexample (Lexapro or Celexa) is not making that big impact then you can pair Lexapro/Celexa with either Benzos (Klonopin => should be taken as needed) or Buspar (should be taken daily)... Many people are afraid of medicines and fear for no reason, SSRI donot have any side effects for majority of people and most of people take them for decades like 20-30-40 years without any side-effects,, My advice you to is buy the book called (Valsalva Hypothesis by Bill perry) read it, and do practice daily and learn it, you will learn easy speech and mechanics of speech...after practicing for 2 or 3 months and learning how effortless speech actually works, you can then start medication and after two or three years...you will forget your stuttering in two or three years then you can slowly tapper the medications off if you want to.... Also for some people SSRI etc will not work because they can have high dopamine activity in their brain so they can try Anti-psychotics but they do come with side effects .... In short : First speech therapy, learn effortless speech and how speech works, practice those techniques daily, make them your habbit, after that take SSRI with buspar (daily) or Klonopin (as needed),,,, if SSRI/BUSPAR donot work, then anti-psychotic will surely do but you have to try different anti-psychotics one of them is going to surely work like (Saphris, Abilify, caplyta, latuda) and this is also what dr Gerald Mcguire says at well, speech therapy (i prefer self help route) + medication is the way to go Some more things that you can do are : Workout, daily stretching exercises, Good diet that contains vitamin b, zinc, magnesium , vitamin d etc...they will make you feel good about yourself and overall improve your health and confidence,, buy you can not solely rely on them
