I’m 37 and I’ve tried several techniques over the years. For me, the way that I stutter has changed as I’ve gotten older. I’ve had to adapt and try different things, whether I’m in a period of getting more hard blocks or just stammering. The one thing that I’ve felt has always directly correlated is confidence. When I’m working out and taking care of myself, meditating, watching what I eat, etc., my fluency seems better. Staying calm is easier. Breathing is easier. Pretty much every aspect of my disfluency is just turned down. Good luck to you my friend. I can say that also as I’ve gotten older, I care less about the embarrassment aspect. Realizing that everyone’s opinion is not important is something that took me a very long time to learn. I have good friends, a wife, decent coworkers, and pretty much everyone who I care about has been supportive as I’ve stopped letting it frustrate me so much. Overall just trying to be less anxious, while easier said than done, would be my biggest piece of advice.
