I have been advised to let people know several times. However I still don’t for 2 reasons: 1. The word “stutter” is hard for me to say, of course lol! Although speech impediment could work. 2. Unfortunately, I believe that immediately upon hearing or seeing a disability in other humans, the human mind consciously or subconsciously maps/labels that disabled person as “less than” other humans. I’ve seen it in peoples’ eyes since I was a child. “Oh, they’re no longer a threat because they’re stupid”. I believe it’s almost always unintended. Maybe just a primal survival instinct. Call it whatever you want, but the last thing that I will allow myself to be thought of is “less than” others.
