Tapping, formally known as Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), is a self-help method that combines elements of cognitive therapy and acupressure. The basic idea is to “tap” with your fingertips on specific meridian points on the body, like the side of your hand, eyebrows, under the eyes, collarbone, and wrists, while focusing on a particular emotion, memory, or issue you want to release. The process usually involves three steps: 1. **Identify the issue:** Focus on a problem, fear, or stressor that you want to address. 2. **Measure intensity:** Rate the emotional intensity on a scale from 0–10 to track progress. 3. **Tap while voicing:** Tap on the designated points while repeating a phrase acknowledging the problem and affirming self-acceptance. In my case was: "**Even though I’m scared people will discover my stuttering, I deeply love and accept myself.**"
