It's not always just semantics. The person I mentioned above claimed he spoke 100% fluently, not just without stuttering. Multiple people told him nobody speaks 100% fluently and he claimed he does and never stumbles over words. It was obviously complete BS. Yes, many people overcome their stutter. Overcoming your stutter does not mean it is a cure. If one person used meditation, EDMR, mushrooms, or whatever, and they overcame their stutter it does not mean applying the same treatment to all stutterers would result in fluency the same way a cure would.
