Yeah the mindset is a really big factor. And I often catch myself giving up on saying something. But I think there are times where I'm just not given the opportunity. Or I am given an opportunity but then it's taken away. More than once, I started to speak, stuttered, and my interlocutors simply moved on. It mostly happens in bigger groups because some don't notice I didn't finish. In one on one convesations I think it's harder to just not let me finish my thought. But that also happens. And any kind of moderated conversations, where time is limited. Obviously, in such a situation everyone has limited time, but without stuttering it is easier to predict how much you will say and plan it. With stutter I never know if I will make it on time or if I will block or get stuck.
