Hi, I stutter and have a daughter who used to stutter when she was young and grew out of it by her teenage years without help. Speech therapy didn't work for me as I went to public school speech therapy for 10+ years, I was always mild also. So when my daughter started stuttering (very mild) at a young age, I didn't put her into speech therapy. I didn't want to bring attention to her stutter and make her more self conscious or hyper aware about her stutter. If stuttering isn't affecting the quality of life, I suggest you do nothing. However, if it gets worse, or you see that it is affecting her, then seek some professional help. I got lucky that my daughter grew out of her stutter. If she had a very severe stutter, I might have acted differently. Also when looking for help, make sure the person specializes in stuttering and understand what the treatment will be like, for example is it fluency shaping techniques or teaching the child acceptance or a bit of both. A bad/inexperienced speech therapist can do more harm. You can also try to find a speech therapist who used to stutter or currently stutters also, since they have first hand experience. Good luck.
