I gave a presentation yesterday and some of my friends still think I'm just nervous, as well as the teacher. Told them I am a natural stutterer. I speak like this and I can't control it. I was confident, in fact. Lots of people think we can just turn it off or something, and it's not like that. I just wish people asked us more about our stutter and how they can make us feel more comfortable when talking. I wish they'd listen to us the same way they listen to anyone else. I understand that it can be confusing, because when I speak I almost never sound like a stutterer. However, when I read out loud I usually stutter a lot, though I've spoken in public almost 100% fluently more than once.
