Different role made sense for me - I didn't stutter when I spoke English because when I spoke it I was something different. Then when I moved to USA for a year as an exchange student I started to stutter slowly until it came to be the same as my native language - because I wasn't playing a role anymore and it became a part of everyday life.It seems like there is no way around stuttering - you can only cheat it for a while until it figures out what are you doing and then jumps back on you like a parasite.
