I see what you’re saying, but suffering isn’t a “who suffers more” scale. Pain is pain, whether it’s painful humiliation from stuttering, whether it’s depression, whether it’s ADHD, which can wreak havoc on someone’s school, personal, and professional life. And saying things like “you deal or don’t deal” minimizes the struggle of many people who deal with, often invisible, mental health issues, and stigmatizes them even further. “Suck it up sicker people than you never complain” discourages people from seeking help and in some cases can drive someone to suicide. I myself got diagnosed with MCTD and ADHD and honestly, while mixed connective tissue disease has caused physical pain, the emotional/mental pain from a lifetime of ADHD has been its own, equal if not worse, form of pain. Maybe the word choice is cheesy, but idk to me it was inspiring because I literally saw someone dealing with this every day and still able to do their job, still able to give lectures just like any teacher out there. Another person I know very well, I worked with him for over 6 hours once to help prepare for a presentation, and idk, the willpower to get through it in spite of obstacles I couldn’t imagine was amazing
