The first rule of covert stuttering is that we don't talk about stuttering! My whole thing was that I didn't want to be "known" for stuttering. I didn't want people to associate stuttering with me first. Maybe a few descriptors down the line, whatever. But now I'm older and getting more confident anyway. And life was a lot harder than it had to be with all the covert crap I did. So maybe people younger than me don't have to do it.
