Daughter’s stuttering is changing and becoming more severe. I’m not sure if this is the right sub for this but I don’t know what else to do. Our 5 year old has been in speech therapy for about 2 years now because her speech used to be delayed. After a while, it improved but she had a slight stutter. We didn’t worry because obviously she’s learning and speech is developing. But in the last year it went from occasional stuttering to the following (broken down in phases) -stuttering on first word slightly “W-w-we” -stuttering multiple times on first word “w-w-w-w- w-we” -stuttering slightly but drawing out words “w-w-weeeeee” -(most recent) stuttering on multiple words, drawing out words, changing tone of words “w-w-weeEEEeeeeeEEE should goooooooooooooo play outside” She is clenching her eyes and straining to get the words out on the more drawn out ones. I don’t know what to do, if anything other than let it run its course? It’s like her mouth can’t keep up with her brain. As if while she’s drawing out the first word, she’s thinking of the rest of the sentence and doesn’t stop drawing the word out until she knows what to say. Her speech therapist says “I’ll monitor it” but we never get any advice, insight, or information on what may be going on. We don’t acknowledge her stuttering at all. We have made a point not to, because we don’t want her to be consciously noticing it and make it worse. Not sure what to do
