>I'm feeling all sorts of anxiety from seeing people meeting other new people, talking, and such. Hey, it's a bunch of strangers meeting each other. Some of them might become friends. Lots of possible stories there. Don't see your stutter as the Big Bad Enemy in all of them. :) >the root of this stuttering and even more so how to solve it Heads up: There's no "root". There's no "solution" either. At least, that's how stutter science puts it currently. There are many factors behind stuttering, and many possible methods to gain a measure of control of it, but it's complex. It varies how people experience all that. >One of the solutions I've found was drinking alcohol. That's not a solution, that's just an "excuse". ;) Stutter varies with what role you see yourself performing (roughly put), and being drunk might not be the best you that you can be. So don't give it too much credit. >I was in speech therapy in elementary school and I felt it was entirely useless Yeah, that's another thing, the efficacy of speech therapy varies with the therapist and the client. Try it again sometime, you might end up with a good combo :) And yes, we all have our "tricks". Some of those _tricks_ are likely to turn into part of our stutter, though. So don't feel like you have to rely on that sort of thing. There are other more methodical ways of trying to get that measure of control (as indicated).
