Smoking makes stuttering worse I used to be a smoker. I quit about two years ago. Recently, a friend of mine offered me cigarettes and I indulged myself. I smoked for a week with him. I realized that resuming smoking after a long time accentuates the effect of Nicotine in your body. I was buzzing similar to when I had just started smoking. It also intensified my stuttering. The best way to describe is that it made me light headed and I had difficulty forming sentences, let alone pronouncing them. Looking back, I see that I certainly stuttered pretty badly back when I was a smoker. I have decided to quit again.
