UPDATE: It's been like two years now, and coffee really has helped me to stutter less consistently enough to merit more consideration. Granted, I have inattentive ADHD, so coffee itself does doesn't make me hyper, so that could factor into the mileage of other folks. I've also used a med called Guanfacine in addition to the coffee, which allows me to drink less and still have the effects I want. Guanfacine is an alternative to Adderall or Ritalin that I found more amenable to my body based on a Genesight test I took. I think meds that help with ADHD could well have the same or a similar effect as coffee, as they're all stimulants that cause the body to go into overdrive and therefore slow us back to a more normal pace mentally, but this is of course just my anecdotal finding. If more folks could try this out, as there isn't much downside, I'd be really curious about your results. Clearly this needs a lot of further studying, but it could really be a breakthrough.
