It's not so much that they don't want to listen to you, but that people don't know how. It's almost as annoying listening to someone stutter as it is to stutter yourself. ​ But I sympathise so much with your situation. I can never feel like a proper part of a group, because people avoid engaging me in the conversation. Even when I go out of my way to contribute something, I just get an "okay" and they change the subject - far from taking and exploiting that conversation point like with other people.
