I know it doesn’t seem like it, but we are in fact more than our stutter at the end of the day. The problem is getting to that point of understanding and acknowledgment takes a lot of fucking time and being in the proper headspace. We are more than our stutter, but at the same time our stutter is also more than just a stutter, as it can cause anxiety, depression, repeated social trauma etc… I’m not religious in any capacity but learning about a specific religion or philosophy that can apply to you helps imo. For me it was teachings of absurdism and tenets of Buddhism and Hinduism and learning my stutter doesn’t matter no matter how bad it may be because people will always find a way to dislike or hate you if they really want to, the stutter is just an avenue to discriminate against you. It’s not like everyday is sunshine and rainbows, most days absolutely do suck as someone in online graduate school with no job living at home. Many people moved on in their lives, I chose the wrong path when I could have done xyz thing instead but I didn’t. Life sucks but you gotta just not give a shit and keep on living or live out of spite entirely to those who discriminate against you
