I’ve had a person tell me “well, I feel sorry for people who stutter because their parents didn’t get them into speech therapy in time”. I was bewildered by this and educated her about the nature of stutter. But it’s absolutely crazy that someone can hear me speak and assume my parents were negligent when all my life they’ve tried to cure me and spent tons of money on my treatments
