I think a lot of this comes from who gets to become celebrities in our society. I'd ballpark like 90% of celebrities are actors or singers. Performers. Relatively self-selecting professions for people who communicate clearly for their jobs and have zero hesitation getting in front of people, which is very much against the inclination of many people who stutter. If they've stuttered, they've "overcome it" to achieve their success, like the article describes. Maybe if we elevate more artists, writers, scientists, etc., we'll get a more diverse and representative celebrity class. For now, I'll have to settle for the few outspoken ones like Meg Washington, George Springer, Drag-On (posted here last week), and I guess Dylan Laube now.
