I’m 30 y.o, been smoking weed daily since about 16 y.o , with a year break at 28, when I had my son. My stutter has ups and downs, I’ve gone through great periods of near fluency, and periods where it’s so draining to speak to others. I feel like marijuana use and its effect on my stutter has also had its ups and downs. I try to manage my marijuana use so I don’t use it to get through everyday. I think it’s important to keep sight of what you’re using as a crutch and what you’re using as a tool. I don’t go to work high, when I was in college I didn’t go to class high, I’m not getting high around my kid. But I do smoke every night. It helps me relax when the day is over and decompress. It helps me quiet down that little voice in my head that is so self deprecating. I remember doing presentations in college and stuttering my way through it. It sucked and I was so embarrassed. But I passed the class, did what I had to do, and got out. You’ll get through it too!
