I've been vocal about this in the past. I really do not like the Valsalva Hypothesis. You can probably find it with a search for Valsalva on this subreddit. It's a hypothesis built on gibberish. That being said, If the way he describes stuttering gives you a better understanding for the physical process of laryngeal blocks. Then, this is great. But know that it's not complete (there are lots of scientific holes in his hypothesis). And what he says [&$%# like this](http://isad.isastutter.org/isad-2013/papers-presented-by-2013/dismantling-the-brick-wall-of-stuttering/): >The Humdronian Speech exercise, designed to promote Valsalva relaxation, vowel phonation, and **hemispheric lateralization of speech processing** through a form of continuous phonation. This transitions to Modified Humdronian Speech and then to normal-sounding Resonant Valsalva-Relaxed Speech. really pisses me off. Humming?! HUMMING can change the lateralization of speech processing?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!? What. The. Actual. F%CK. No. humming cannot change the lateralization of speech processing. ugh. It really pisses me off. If you're going to make a grandiose claim like this you're going to need a shit storm of evidence. (I do brain research in stuttering, there is none. Unless he's pulling from the Neumann papers .... but they didn't do "Humdronian Speech" bullshit in those studies. it's utter bullshit).
