Gate agent thought I wasn't a native speaker I have a funny story that I wanted to share with y'all. I was at the airport with my mom and we went up to the gate agent for some help because our flight got delayed. My mom's English isn't the best so she asked me to speak with the gate agent. I went "Can you... *pause*... Can you help... *pause*". The nice lady who was just trying to help thought I wasn't a native speaker, instantly switched to my mom's native language and asked my mom if we were visiting from the country the gate agent was from too. My mom just took over at that point while I stood there cracking up inside hahaha. It made me wonder if my stutter has made anyone else think I was still learning English.
