It is not about whether she is right or wrong, ''Let's let the scientists spend time on this instead, okay? Please.'' sounds very derogatory to me atleast and is not needed. And on topic I think everyone's stutter is different so it could very well be the case that some people experience their stutter like this person is explaining it.
