You don't have to work a customer service job like that if you don't want to. Seriously, there's stocking, cleaning, delivery driving, warehousing, etc. I don't buy the whole "stutterers should just go out there and get humiliated all day" thing. If it's humiliating for you and you aren't ready to come face to face with it yet, you don't always have to. I'm not saying to hide in the shadows your whole life, but as someone with a documented disability like stuttering, you can't expect to be able to speak like a fluent person or compare yourself to them at all. If you want to do the things that fluent people do, you're going to have to accept that you won't be as fluent as themwhile doing so. If you aren't ready to face this, I'm sure there are other ways to gain some income. First and foremost, be strong.
