ohhh i couldnt agree more! what boils my blood though is when i say that i have a stutter because i 1) want to be upfront with it to deal with it better and 2) avoid awkward situations ASAP and they immediately go "oh yeah i also stutter when im nervous :/" like.... THATS NOT THE SAME THING?!?! i stutter talking to my boyfriend about casual stuff, i stutter when asking my mom about anything, i stutter when talking to myself for gods sake! and everytime i complain to non-stutterers about it i usually get the answer of "they just wanted to tell you that they can relate" i dunno man, making something about yourself immediately doesnt make me feel great and i reckon a lot of people feel the same way
