Xanax helped my stutter a lot, just by reducing the anxiety associated with my speech. Unfortunately, Xanax is really fucking addictive and there is no way my doctor would prescribe it to me, and I don't think it's a solution anyway... just a temporary aid. I noticed that phenibut helped with the anxiety part of my stutter, but it's also pretty addictive and could have serious long-term problems, so I try to avoid it. I also tried a trial of aripiprazole, as there have been several case studies with it and developmental stuttering. But while it did help my speech and secondary behaviors, the side effects were just awful. It was like I was constantly on-edge and tensed up. It's very hard to explain the feeling.
