Hey I'm glad you wrote this, I'm a speech pathologist without a stutter and reading your perspective is really helpful for me. I will say in my graduate school experience the importance of stuttering acceptance was really emphasized as the best way to help clients who stutter, especially for clients who are older. It's really inspiring that you overcame your anxiety about stuttering, and I'll keep in mind what you've said, as I work with some school age children who stutter. Some of them have experienced bullying and are beginning to become self-conscious about the way they speak. Thank you for sharing your story.
