I feel you on this!! I don’t think you’re an asshole, it’s fair to be angry about the fact we’re treated with pity/unfairly especially in social situations. I’m a bartender at a college bar while in uni, and have called out plenty of people making fun of my stutter or laughing at it. It’s human nature to retaliate when you believe you’re being treated unfairly. But one thing, there’s a difference between being a douche and being ignorant. For a lot of us we’ve been going through this all of our lives, so it’s a lot easier to distinguish the two. If my intuition is wrong and they actually didn’t know, I apologize. I like to keep that in mind when someone laughs. I wish there was a way we could explain what a stutter actually is to everyone, but it’s not the case
