All the most successful people in regards to their stuttering have all held jobs where they were forced to confront it. I'm not saying you have to work the the drive through line at a fast food place, but let me tell you from experience focusing on where you don't have to talk as much is not going to help you get to where you want to be. And I am a severe stutterer.
