It has made me a more observant person, by listening more (and speaking less), and a more empathetic person. But mostly it has (at times) made me proud of myself for how far I've come. Ten years ago I was in a bad place. Today I have a master's degree and a new career (and a couple more good friends) that I would never guessed I would have taken a shot at. Ten years ago my stutter controlled me. Today? Fuck that shit. I got livin' to do.
