in my experience, stuttering is constantly _fluctuating_. that's part of the annoying thing about it, to never quite know where it's going. all we can do is try and remember that, so we don't get too surprised when a change hits us. i'm 37 and i've had periods where my stutter was a breeze, and periods where it frustrated and/or pissed me off to no end. it comes and goes. just gotta remember that =) keeps me on my feet, i guess. somehow. dunno. but yeah, some people have great success with therapy.
