I (female) stutter. My dad stuttered, but I didn't know he did til I located him in my early 20s (long story). Anyway I had and raised a child who did not develop a stutter. This child just recently died from other far more insidious genetic traits passed down. My child was in her mid 20s when she passed. Personally, I'd rather she had stuttered than wind up like she did.
