The thing is though, people might not chat up with you if they know you stutter. Not because they dislike you, but just because they prefer to avoid the awkwardness or becsuse they think you'd like to be left alone. Nothing malicious in that regard, just understandable human nature. To answer your question: I have a few great friends so I can't say I've had trouble making friends. However, when they have other plans that means I'm sitting at home, that's how my social life is: dependent on them. Not bad by any means, but it's nice to be invited to birthdays by people other than your friends etc. I haven't really experienced that kind of socializing in my life and it's eating up my mind because I feel like I've missed out on a lot of fun in my youth. But hey, keep busy living or keep busy dying (Shawshank).
