That's just the thing-- in my experience, and a lot of other people who stutter that i've talked to, you become so much more fluent when you *stop trying not to stutter* -- you have to stop fearing it. You could definitely seek help from a speech-language pathologist and work on some stuttering modification techniques (which have helped me a lot, I still stutter, but I do so more smoothly and less-noticeably), as well as acceptance of the disorder. It really helps a lot.
