This is my post. And this was my thought process. I’d also like to apologize. While I still stand by my joke being objectively funny due to the witty nature of it I had NO idea the trauma behind it. I’ve never known anyone with a severe speech impediment but had I thought about it a bit more I could’ve avoided the faux pas. Most folks in your community have been super nice about setting me straight, to which I appreciate. Educate don’t obliterate! - which you all did. I’d also like to add, the man and I are still chatting. I sent him the Reddit post and apologized. Y’all weren’t wrong, he was jolted at first by my joke but rolled with it nonetheless.
