The work around for this, is to order in a silly accent while looking down at your menu. "I will 'ave ze....ummmm.... steak a Wella a done's" People think you're having a laugh and laugh back and take the order. No one suspects a thing, you've ordered perfectly and you're more likely to get special service as you've lightened up the servers day.
