C-PTSD is a real diagnosis, just not in the DSM-5. It is officially recognized in the ICD-11, which is used worldwide, including Europe. So yes, someone can absolutely be diagnosed with complex PTSD depending on the diagnostic system their clinician uses. Saying it "doesn’t exist" is simply incorrect.
