Thank you for the response! I guess when I said "medical research" I really meant more like pharmaceutical research and medications like Pagoclone. I do not mean to sound harsh but I cannot begin to tell you how many research posters I have seen on post-traumatic stress, childhood trauma, lack of nutrition, and breast-feeding...if they lead to stuttering..may or may not cause stuttering. Please do not get me wrong I think any stuttering awareness and advocacy...anything that brings the disorder of stuttering a little in the spotlight is an overall win to me. But I have to say I feel like a lot of these are a little farfetched...I would say many people undergo one or more of these things...and they do not stutter. There was another recent research article on stating that stuttering affects multiple areas of the brain..and they are different all over. I feel like this is old news? Haven't we already established this? I thought a recent research study about stuttering and mice was fascinating....I guess I wish more of this was going on. I know around 1% of the population, so I am sure research isn't exactly in high demand. I am glad there is some funding...I just feel like there is soooo much more that could be done. But who am I to complain?...I have no neurology background..and don't have the first clue what is going on in the human brain when stuttering happens. Wish I was some millionaire who could pour all of my money into this lol
