I agree One of the best things I realized was first impressions don't matter. I'm sure you also did the thing where you go around in a circle and introduce yourselves. When it got to me I was so shy and stuttered, yet people still approached me and talked to me like i was a normal person and that really helped my confidence boost and made me go out of my way to introduce myself to others myself. It is nice when people come to me and talk to me and get to know me and we become friends, even when I stutter, and it makes it that much easier to talk to others.
