Advice for my daughter Hi! My 8 year old daughter developed a stutter earlier this year. Her main issue seems to be blocking and her stutter has been defined as moderate. It just kind of came out of the blue. Some days she is pretty much stutter free. Some days she can barely get a word out. She starts 3rd grade next year. I have her in speech therapy (private. Not in school). She loves school, but I worry about the increase in coursework for 3rd grade. She is a perfectionist and stresses out about class work which seems to worsen her stutter. Do you have any advice for her? Or for me? What helps you? What makes things harder? She was also flagged for possible dyslexia so I will be having her tested for that soon. Do any of you have a stutter and dyslexia? Just wondering if they occur together frequently.
