I'm 21. I recently got out of a heavy alcohol abuse cycle that ended with me showing up blackout drunk to a brunch at 11 am. It was my "wakeup call", and after an intervention the next day I broke the habit. It was purely as a self medication for stuttering and the anxiety it brought. My point is, don't start drinking when it's not appropriate because of your stutter, you can easily get dependent, and I know that EVERYONE would rather you stutter than you being drunk.
