I’m 27 as well, and am a current supervisor in my department. For my small department, supervisors answer only to our director, other directors within the company over other departments, and the state police. That being said, I deal with phone calls non stop from other departments and the VPs and GM. It sucks, because like you said, phone calls just suck for us. Your idea of starting your own company could work, BUT would you be willing to risk your current job and financial state to achieve this? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I feel if you started your own company, you’d be making more calls and face to face meetings. Honestly if you’re comfortable where you are now, stay. You’re doing great in terms of financial success. The only reason you should leave is if you are not happy with where you are in life, not because of the stutter situation.
