Which techniques have been helpful to you? Hi there, I'm hoping some of you can give me some insight. My 5 year old son has developed a moderate stutter over the past year or so and it's been advised that he start with a speech therapist. Insurance has denied our claim so we don't have the funds to start him with a therapist until January. I'm wondering if some of you can recommend some books I can read in the meantime to gain an understanding of some of the techniques commonly used to help people deal with stuttering, and how some of these techniques have worked for you? I just want to be informed and be able to help my son as much as possible. He says his words "get stuck in his throat' and he can feel them in there trying to come out. Neither me nor my husband have ever had to deal with a stutter so any advice is appreciated.
