Hey! I've had a stutter since middle school and I'm 26 now working in Sales. Not gonna lie to you, it's a struggle doing sales when you know you're going to stutter on that call. I stutter saying my own name over the phone; which is like the first words you say! It all comes back to confidence and letting your team know that you stutter. They're not going to think anything less of you and will work with you to get the video right; no matter how many takes you need. This will boost your confidence because you know you're not getting judged for it. For the people over the phone - they probably think you're just nervous. I stutter on every single one of my calls. However, just move past it and do what you can to succeed; even if that means making more calls than everyone on your team to achieve the same results. To lower the stuttering, I recommend listening to music that calms you & giving yourself a mental confidence boost. Honestly, drinking coffee in the morning and a red bull in the afternoon give me a good rush that increases my confidence. I've had those days when your confidence is shot and you stutter like crazy. I just remember that tomorrow is a new day and walk in confident again.
